【摘要】:Thepurposeofthistestmethodistostandardizetheprocedurefordeterminingfibercontentofpeatsamplesbydrymass.Astandardtestmethodfordeterminingthequantityoffibersinapeatsampleisnecessarynotonlyforclassifyingsamples(asinClassificationD4427),butisalsoasignificantparameterinpredictingordefiningthemanyendusesofpeat.Inthisregard,fibercontenthasbeenrelatedtoagriculturalandhorticulturalenduses(suchasmulching,soilenrichment,etc.),geotechnicalmeasurements(suchasstrength,compressibility,permeability,etc.),industrialchemicaluses(suchasproductionofwaxes,activatedcarbon,medicinals,etc.),andevenenergyuses(suchasdirectcombustion,methanolproduction,gasyields,etc.).1.1Thistestmethodcoversthelaboratorydeterminationofthefibercontentofsamplesofpeat(asdefinedinClassificationD4427)bydrymass.Italsomaybeusedfornon-peatorganicsoilmaterials.1.2Becausethistestmethodissimpleandrequiresnosophisticatedequipmenttoperform,itisespeciallyrecommendedforroutinereconnaissancework,wherelargenumbersofsamplesneedtobetestedandmineralcontentsarelow.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
